Crossroads: Ad Hudler

Crossroads: Ad Hudler

This year’s Crossroads Writers Conference was fantastic. I was honored to be the official photographer. Not only did I get to see old friends, like Ad Hudler, but I made new ones, like Jack McDevitt. Thanks to Chris and Heather and all of the other Crossroads folks for asking me to participate again. It was awesome. My only regret is that I couldn’t photograph every event.

Check out the gallery. I’ll be posting more about the experience on my other site. By the way, if you don’t see a shot you’re looking for in the gallery, contact me; I just might have it.

Jerry, it creeps me out that you can be such a good photographer and still have another job at which you’re so good that they’ve decided they can’t fire you without first declaring bankruptcy. I’m impressed, as usual, but I’m no longer surprised. Your work continues to add a level of class to everything you shoot without sacrificing an ounce of the joy or energy. Thank you for being there, for taking these, for being… our camera bitch.

Thanks, Chris. I’m happy to be your camera bitch, especially when you throw such a great party. In fact, that has a nice ring to it: I wonder if camerabitch.com is available?

Unfortunately (and oddly enough) that’s taken, but not used. It expires Jan 2011…

I know. How weird is that? Still, I’m not sure I’d want to be know as the camera bitch. Maybe the camera dude…

My favorite is the B&W of Ad in his hat – oh, and all of the ones from Friday’s kickoff, especially the ones where Roger and Floco are laughing. Oh, and the ones from the conference that feature students looking like they’re thinking really hard. Wish I got these looks in my own classes….

Thanks again, Jerry! I noticed writers sharing them with their people already.
