ENL 3273: British Literature 1900-1945Introduction |
British Literature, 1900-1945, will look at the rise and decline of English Modernism in poetry, the novel, the short story, the essay, and drama. This survey tries to touch on the major figures of the period to show the variety of intellectual and artistic thought and development that we now call modernism. The work load in this class is rigorous; do not make the commitment if your schedule is too full. ENL 3273 will be taught in CPR-202, the English Departments computer classroom and will also incorporate autonomous, distance learning components; a basic familiarity with and access to computers (Internet and word processing applications on any operating system) is a prerequisite. Also, students are expected to express themselves competently in writing, especially when writing critically about literature. All writing should be relatively free of grammatical, stylistic, and mechanical errors and be developed in an orderly, logical manner. |
