Literary Murder

Literary Murder

Premeditated murder is the common theme in these three Southern Literature works, A Rose for Emily, Spunk, and The Abortion. Each of these stories has a different approach to murder; both in the way in which murder is committed and also in the way in which it is viewed by the one committing the murder and other characters of the story.

The main characters in these stories preconceived ideas on how and when to commit the murders, and also what the effects of their actions would have on themselves. In A Rose for Emily , Miss Emily is believed to have killed Homer and to keep him with her forever. Spunk is said to have been pushed into the saw by the ghost of a revengefull Joe. The Abortion has Imani dealing with taking the life of her unborn child.
