1.2 Workstation Installation

Workstation installation will follow that of the server, with two major exceptions: partitions and X Windows configuration. Another difference might be that you want your workstations to dual-boot between Windows and Linux. If this is the case, make sure you begin the installation with Windows installed on its own hard disk partition before installing Linux. The Red Hat installer will be able to preserve the Windows partition and set up LILO, the Linux Loader, so either operating system may be chosen upon boot.

Follow the same installation procedure outlined in the server install until you get to the window asking you what type of installation you want on this machine. Instead of “Server,” choose “Workstation.”
