1.2.1 Hard Drive Partitions

The Workstation needs only two hard drive partitions, not including a third that might contain another operating system. If you are formatting the whole drive for use with Linux, let the installer automatically partition the drive for you. If you have another operating system on the drive, then you will have to partition the disk manually using Disk Druid. Using all of the space that you allocated for Linux, delete the existing partitions, then create a /root and a swap partition in the same way you did with the server by selecting the “Create” button and sizing and naming the partition. Remember, the swap should be no more than twice your machine’s RAM or 128 MB, whatever is greater.
