Biography

I am currently employed by the Medical Center of Central Georgia as a Case Manager. Case Management has evolved into one of the newest professions in the health care industry. Many hospitals have utilized this expertise for years and others are just seeing the importance of this function.

Experiences over the past 20 years in health care

1979 - worked for Dr. Khalid Kahn, an ophthalmologist in Talladega, Alabama, as an office assistant.

1981 - worked at Citizen's Hospital, Talladega, Alabama, as a Nursing Assistant and Medical Secretary.

1983 - began work as a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery.

1984 - changed to Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing as career focus.

1988 - worked for a group of Neonatologist as a Newborn Care Specialist.

1991 - first position as a Nurse Manager.

1995 - Director of Women's Services, moving the end of 1995 to Macon to begin career at The Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Hobbies and Interests:

Church Activities - Attends Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church.

Enjoys working with flowers and creating wreaths.

Scrap booking family photographs.

Time Management - has taught classes on Time Management. Recognized by peers as an organized leader.

Team Building - attended a seminar on team leadership and foundations. Worked with a group to expand this into a corporate wide agenda.

Mead Johnson Speakers Board - was selected to participate in seminars for nurses focused on newborn, care, neonatal nursing and infant nutrition.
