Work Related Information

I am currently employed with Technicon Engineering, Inc., as an Industrial Division Drafter. My duties include, but are not restricted to, the creation of AutoCAD2000i drawing files, the correction of multi-disipline mark-ups, corrospondence with clients via email, fax and telephone, all to insure that project goals are met within the clients expectations.

Along with my full time obligations to Technicon Engineering, Inc., I work freelance for other engineers, surveyors and geologists in the central Georgia area. I provide timely, acurate and cost-effective solutions for AutoCAD needs to my clients.

I am also enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. I have been in the Reserves since June 1997, and plan on completing my obligation June of 2003. During my active duty time in the Marine Corps I have been through extensive electronics training. This training included basic electronics, intermediate aircraft electronics, fixed wing aircraft radio and radar, and specialized training in the F/A-18 Forward Looking Infared Electro-Optical Radar (FLIR), and its test set. During my reserve elistment I have continued my training with both formal classroom training in the ANVS-6 and ANVS-9 Night Vision Goggle Systems. In addition to classroom trainging, I have been a part of "On the Job Training" (OJT) for various rotory wing communication, radar/tracking and electronic countermeasures systems.

Education Related Information

I am currently enrolled at Macon State College, and am on a track to take as many classes relevent to my engineering degree as possible before finishing my BSE requirments at Mercer Univeristy's School of Engineering. Please refer to my online resume for a list of classes I have completed already.

Interpersonal Related Information

I would have to say that three of my major strengths are teamwork, resolve, and a “get it done” attitude. Throughout my college and professional careers, I have been involved with numerous groups and teams in many different capacities from project leader to the most basic of roles. As with any experiences, I have had both productive and troubled groups. I have found that with my troubled groups, a little more leadership and persistence is all that was needed to get the group back on track. When working with groups that are less than optimal, a positive attitude helps get all members of the team refocused on the goal. I like to look through all of the clutter of projects and find the main objective, organize our strategies with help from the other team members, delegate tasks, and see the job through to completion.

I have found that I like to be a front-runner in the planning, organization, and completion of projects. If I am not in the leadership role of a project, I like to make sure that my aspect of the assignment is completed to the best of my ability. I also like to collaborate with my team members to find the best solution to our problem; I find that this collaboration develops the teamwork skills that make a group the best it can be.
