Theory of Operation

The Shear Delight 2001 Pruning Shears operate on a pivot bolt. When force is applied to the handles, and they are squeezed together, the blades come together. When the blades come together, they cut the object inserted between them. As the force on the handles is released, the blades separate and open apart to begin cutting again.
