Dear Mr. Guerrero:
Please consider my application for the chemist assistant position at PSI, Inc. I worked with your chemist three years ago when I was doing my gas chromatography research. I graduated from Vivian Gaither High School in June of 1997, and I am now a junior at the University of Florida, majoring in Chemical Engineering.
The research I conducted tested air samples in the gas chromatograph. As a result of this research, I learned the principles and operation of the gas chromatograph. This knowledge and experience will aid me in quickly becoming an asset to the chemist. Also, I took four laboratory courses at the University of Florida and acquired skills in qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Additionally, during the summer of 1997 I interned at the H. Lee Moffit Cancer Research Center as a laboratory assistant. I worked alongside a researcher helping her prepare and run gels. Through this job, I learned the proper use of chemical equipment and how to work alongside someone with a common goal in mind.
I will be able to work June 22 through August 14, Monday through Friday, during the chemist's normal working hours. I am available after 2 each weekday if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Brian J. Dlouhy
